This is one of the coolest extensions I've seen for Moz. Great job!
I had one idea, I don't know how feasible it is, but I was thinking an alternative method for selecting multiple words would be to hold down shift. That is, every word you moved over while holding Ctrl+Shift down would be appended to the "selection."
Keep up the good work!

Nice Dev. Works well. I like the previous suggestion as well.

How do you select multiple words? I love the concept.

This is great, but the only thing that I think I would really use this for is the dictionary. Google is already on the right click menu when I select a word. I guess Google News is good. I kind of wish something like GuruNet.com still existed to take me to a page that's context sensitive page to give me a definition, a thesaurus, perhaps an encyclopedia entry or more if it's information of contextual use. Does anyone know of such a site? I suppose I could create it myself for my use. I was thinking there may be something profesionally done.

Hello,
Many Weppages nest urls as parameters in other urls when linking to do all kind of stuff that i hate like opening popups, logging openening things in frames etc.
Example url of what i mean:
http://www.example.com/download.php?url=http://thefileiwant.zip
http://www.example.com/redirecto.cgi?to=http://foo.com&bar=true&bar2=falseopenings these links often means : copy the link, cut out all unneeded parts, open it which is very annoying.
So i have looked at your code and although i am no programmer have easily found the following for me to work :
if ( str.search(/?[^=]*=(http:[^&]+)/i) != -1 ) {
str=RegExp.$1;
}
(added in dlProcessLinks)
Maybe you want to take this as an idea for a new feature?best regards,
Karsten

I've installed it but it doesn't work.
I'm using Mozilla 1.2.1 on Win 98.I have the control key set as a modifier key to scroll text with my middle mouse button - might that be the problem?

Amendment to the above - it's not working at all. I look under preferences and there is nothing for Dynamic Links.
I've even tried restarting my machine.
Help - what do I do?

In response to the above I got it to work in the end by doing the reverse of the uninstall method. i.e. everything it says to remove add. I added the overlayinfo to every overlays.rdf and it worked.

Doesn't seem to work in 1.3 (released today). The overlayinfo is in the .rdf files but it's not actually doing anything...

The default dictionay link is great, but I found something I like better:
Try this:
http://www.dict.org/bin/Dict?Form=Dict2&Database=*&Query=$$$It does a couple of dictionay lookups, and even looks up the Jargon File [http://catb.org/esr/jargon/]
Put this in your dynamic links prefs, and it works great :-)

Does anyone know how to activate dynamiclinks without having to press Strg all the time? I am thinking of something like a toolbar button or a key shortcut that 'locks' the function for the current window.

Good product, but I had one idea.
I don't know how feasible it is, but I was thinking that it would be more user-friendly to display the alternatives links, when you moved over a selection, in the right click contextual menu rather than moving over a selection while holding the ctrl down. - [16] Submitted by: Prime on Monday March 31st 2003

Very, very frustrating. Release 1.3 beta-a doesn't have automatic image resizing, but does have "close all other tabs" and works with dynamic links. Release beta-b does have automatic image resizing, but doesn't have "close all other tabs", but does work with dynamic links. Release 1.3 does have automatic image resizing and "close all other tabs", but doesn't work with dynamic links.
